Afonwen antique and craft centre, Afon-wen

Afonwen antique and craft centre
The arts and craft centre was originally a working paper Mill dating back to 1786. In the late 1980's the Monshin family took over the site and renovated the building, finally opening in 1991 as the Afonwen antique and craft centre. The centre has something for everyone, whether you are searching for a gift, antique furniture, home accessories or a locally made craft item. The centre also has a busy calendar of events, where you can see local crafts people and artists at work. There is also an amazing restaurant called the Edenshine restaurant.

Bettisfield Coastal Walk
This hidden gem is a beautiful part of Flintshire. For some reason it is not signposted anywhere; to find it, follow the signs for Bagillt Car Spares. There are 2 or 3 well signposted walks: a tarmac walk between the coast and some woods and ponds or head over the coast towards the Dragon Beacon for an exquisite view. This area is great for wildlife. Parking is free, great for picnics and well worth a look. Keep it for a clear day to get the best views.

St. Margaretís Church activity header

St. Margaretís Church, Bodelwyddan

St. Margaretís Church
Otherwise known as the marble church, St. Margaretís Church dates back to July 24th 1856, when the first foundation stone was laid by Lady Margaret Willoughby de Broke, in memory of her husband, 16th Baron Willoughby de Broke. When built it was referred to as The Pearl of the Vale, and stepping inside you can see why, as fourteen different types of marble were used in its construction. Of note is its elaborate woodwork, and in the 202 foot tower, you can view two striking stained glass windows. Newly built the church was bright white.

About three miles to the North East of Denbigh, in the settlement of Bodfari is the striking Grade II listed Church of St. Stephen. Dinorben Arms
A historic country pub is to reopen eight years after it closed when the owners went into administration. The 17th Century Dinorben Arms in Bodfari, near Denbigh, Denbighshire, has been acquired by the Brunning and Price group. The Dinorben was put on the market for £175,000 when it shut in 2007 after a period of decline in trade. Bodfari was once famous for St. Deifarís holy well, where children were dipped three times Ďto prevent their crying at nightí. Some people believe that this well is the one on view in the ĎWell Barí of the Dinorben!
